This will be fun. I’ve owned these two ships clocks for about 120 years give or take a century. I ran them in the 1980s then put them away for cleaning.

As I sell clocks and watches and catch up on customer’s timepieces I unearthed these two neglected beauties that were screaming for attention. I uncased the larger clock on the left and was surprised with the quality. A picture of the movement can be seen in the “about me page”. I decided to share the exploration, repair and cleaning of these two clocks. I’ll add some history of the clocks themselves as well as features that make the clock excellent timekeepers as I reveal these components.
